SHARE Lab members enjoyed the end of Spring 2023 semester. Some of the lab members leave for a full-time job after graduation and others also leave for summer internship.

Dr. Rob Grace, an assistant professor in the Department of English (Tech Communication) visited SHARE Lab. Dr. Grace is an expert of technical communication in the context of emergency and disaster response. His main focus includes Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)'s communication aided by various technologies. Dr. Grace tried out our FLAIM simulator.
Austin presented his research on novice user's cognitive challenges with EHR systems using a hierarchical task analysis (HTA). This was his first in-person presentation in HFES International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care. The conference was held in Loew's Sapphire Falls Resort at Orlando, Florida. Great job, Austin!
Dr. Eric Greenlee (in the left picture) and Dr. Choi and her students(in the right picture) made a visit to SHARE Lab. They tried the FLAIM simulator and learned about research projects that are in progress in SHARE Lab.
SHARE Lab presented the FLAIM simulator, a VR-based firefighting simulator at Texas Tech Engineering Fair. K-12 students at different ages tried out the firefighting simulator. Some of the children said their future goal is to become a firefighter. SHARE Lab will continue outreach and K-12 educational activities in the future.
An abstract titled, "Identifying EHR Novice Users’ Cognitive Challenges: Mapping Critical Nursing Tasks Using Hierarchical Task Analysis" was accepted as an oral presentation of 2023 HFES International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care to be held in Orlando, FL on March 26-29, 2023.
